Let’s go for a Walk…

Hey Everyone. This March I will be walking 122,000 steps to help raise funds to support 122,000 homeless Australians, so please help support the cause by donating what you can to help support those who need it most.

All the funds help OrangeSky to continue to provide safe spaces all over Australia, for our homeless to connect with someone if they need to talk, but most importantly somewhere to help them keep clean! Which is something we all take for granted.

Living homeless is something I can’t truly appreciate as I’ve never faced it myself, but from stories I’ve heard from friends who’ve been there, and people I’ve spoken to on the street, It’s truly devastating! Finding food and shelter is a true nightmare, but the most dehumanising aspect is often living covered in the dirt and filth, smelling the dirt and sweat, having a handful of filthy clothes that don’t help, and knowing that so many people think of them as nothing more than “street rats”. For parents facing homelessness with their children who face the same fate with them, the added pain and guilt of seeing them suffer is indescribable. It might not seem like much at first glance, but this is a life changing service for these people, helping them hang onto life in ways we can’t appreciate.

I am getting in early with this post to help drive up as much awareness and support as I can, and to help build the habits I need to go the distance and meet my goal. Every Step Counts!!!

I’ll try to make regular posts to keep you updated on my progress, and hopefully I can share some stories from people facing homelessness - so we can all better understand the power we have here to change lives.

I know this is a long post, thanks for sticking with me, and I hope you will support us to change the lives of those who need it most.
