THE CHALLENGE
What is Walk The Walk?
Walk The Walk is all about raising funds and awareness so that people experiencing homelessness can access free laundry, warm showers, and genuine connections.
We're asking you to walk 122km in March to support the 122,000 Australians experiencing homelessness, and raise funds for Orange Sky. By participating in the challenge, you're helping Orange Sky to provide support, care and community for our friends in need.
When is the challenge?
Walk The Walk is throughout the month of March and you can choose to complete your kilometres, in your own time, wherever you want, when it best suits you!
Walk the Walk was created for supporters (like you!) to do on your own terms and with no added pressure.
What are the distance options?
However, if that challenge is not quite right for you, we encourage you to take on a challenge that suits you best. We suggest:
- 61km challenge: Walk 0.5km for every thousand friends doing it tough
- 244km challenge: Walk 2km for every thousand friends doing it tough

How do I receive Walk the Walk merchandise?
1. Walk the Walk Shirt - you can buy one here or alternatively if you have participated in Walk the Walk before you will receive one for FREE at sign up!
2. Walk the Walk Sticker - When you raise $120 to provide five people with laundry and showers, you’ll receive an exclusive Walk The Walk sticker!
3. Walk the Walk Cap - When you raise $240 to provide ten people with laundry and showers, you’ll receive this awesome Walk The Walk cap!
4. Walk the Walk Hoodie - When you raise $1,080 to provide 45 people with laundry and showers, you’ll earn this awesome Walk The Walk hoodie!

I need help updating my online profile – who can I contact?
Head to the top right hand corner of the website (on desktop) or open the sidebar on mobile to login to your profile and access your dashboard, and check out the options to update your profile. If you’re having trouble, click here to contact us.
How do I log my fitness activity?

You can log the kilometres you walk to track your progress as a way to keep your friends and family updated on your progress and show donors you're 'walking the walk'. (Please note, only your KM's will be tracked on your dashboard. It will not upload your location)
Follow these steps to track your kilometres automatically:
1. Download the Fitbit, Strava, MapMyFitness, or Garmin apps and set up your account.
2. Log in to your Walk The Walk account within your fundraising page.
3. Under the heading 'Connect your preferred fitness app', click your chosen app.
4. Follow the prompts to connect your account.
5. When you start your walk, select 'start your workout' in the app on your phone. Once you end your walk, save it in the app and your distance will be published on your fundraising page the following day.
1. Log in to your account and select ‘My Fitness Activity’
2. Under the ‘Add activity’ section, enter the date and distance you have completed
3. The number of kilometres will now appear on your fundraising page for everyone to see!
Remember, all of your kilometres will be reset to 0km on 1 March, so we can Walk The Walk together!
How can I change my distance goal?
You can change your distance goal at any time!
1. Log in to your account and select ‘My Fitness Activity’
2. Use the arrows or type in a new distance and click save.
What if I start my challenge before 1 March?
We love your enthusiasm! Your kilometres will be tracked once you connect your app and then we will refresh everyone's stats on 1 March to start Walk The Walk together.
RAISING FUNDS
How do I add a cash donation to my dashboard?
- If the donor has given you cash, head to a local bank or ATM to deposit the funds into your account.
- Once the deposit is complete, navigate to your dashboard and select 'Offline Donations.'
- Click 'Add Offline Donation' and input the relevant details for the donor. Once each donor is added, click 'Save.'
- Then click 'Pay' and complete the transaction using either a credit card or PayPal.
Will people who donate to me get a tax-deductible receipt?
Absolutely! Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Receipts are issued automatically to the donor after a donation is made through your challenge page.
How do people donate to my fundraising page?
Upon registering, you’ll create your own fundraising page and be provided with a unique URL. Share this with your friends and family so they can donate directly to your page!
Where does the money I raise go?
Great question! All the funds you raise will directly support Orange Sky’s Australian services, providing free laundry, warm showers and the opportunity for conversation and connection. With 45 locations providing services, we need your help to continue this important service to our friends doing it tough. Find out more here.
